There’s something incredibly liberating about booking a trip purely for yourself. No compromises, no waiting for diaries to align, no endless “where does everyone fancy?” conversations—just the freedom to follow your own curiosity, energy, and instincts.
As someone who spent 27 years as long-haul cabin crew with British Airways, travelling alone became a natural part of my life long before I ever realised it was considered “brave”. Between flights, I’d often find myself with a day or two to explore destinations across the world independently. I loved wandering unfamiliar cities, joining local boat trips, discovering hidden cafés, hiking coastal paths, or sitting back to watch the world go by somewhere completely new, taking it all in.
Looking back, those moments shaped me significantly, both personally and professionally. Travel has an incredible way of quietly building confidence without you even realising it’s happening. You become more open to new people, conversations, and experiences because you’re not wrapped up in familiarity or routine.
For women who already enjoy adventure, wellness, and the outdoors—whether that’s yoga retreats, paddle boarding, hiking, wild swimming, or reconnecting with nature—there are now more opportunities than ever to travel independently while still feeling safe, social, and supported.
Wellness travel has evolved beautifully over recent years. It’s no longer just about green juices and silent retreats; luxury wellness breaks today are far more inspiring, experience-led, and deeply personal.
Some of my own favourite destinations include Thailand and Bali for yoga, mindfulness, and holistic wellness; Morocco for beautiful riads, spa experiences, and complete escapism; and Greece and Croatia for sailing, paddle boarding, and relaxed coastal wellbeing. The Dolomites, Slovenia, and Switzerland are also incredible for combining outdoor adventure with luxury wellness—think mountain hikes, lakeside yoga, spa hotels, wild swimming, and breathtaking scenery everywhere you turn.
As women, particularly those balancing businesses, careers, families, and everyday life, we’re often brilliant at looking after everyone else before ourselves. But we genuinely need to pause, too. And honestly—sometimes the biggest adventure starts with saying yes to the trip in the first place!
Travel has completely shaped the way I see the world and the way I now run my travel business. I love helping clients create experiences that feel entirely unique to them—whether that’s a solo wellness escape, an adventure with friends, or precious time away with family.
I’d absolutely love to chat about your own travel wish list, and help craft a getaway that feels exciting, restorative, and completely tailored to you.
